Our Story

We started this firm with a shared belief: immigration law should be personal, compassionate, and relentless in its pursuit of justice.

As two immigration attorneys practicing near Washington, D.C., we worked side by side for years—fighting for our clients, learning from each other, and building a strong friendship grounded in shared values. Over time, we realized we wanted to do more than just practice law. We wanted to create a firm where clients aren’t just case numbers, but individuals and families whose stories matter deeply.

That vision led us to open our own immigration law firm—one where we could take the time to truly connect with our clients, tailor our strategies, and deliver the focused, high-quality representation every case deserves.

Today, we bring our combined experience, dedication, and heart to every client we serve. Whether you're facing deportation, seeking asylum, applying for a visa, or navigating any part of the immigration process, we’re here to fight for you—with skill, honesty, and care.

Because to us, this work is personal.

Atorney Claire McVay

Claire McVey Carmona began learning Spanish through an immersion program at the age of six. This experience allows her to appreciate the importance of bridging cultural and linguistic barriers by communicating with someone in their native language.

Claire earned her B.A. in Political Science with minors in Spanish and Chinese from DePauw University. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Salmon P. Chase College of Law and did externships with immigration and litigation attorneys, and a Family Court Justice in Covington, Kentucky. She was admitted to the Kentucky Bar Association in 2018.

After obtaining her license, Claire has worked exclusively in immigration law and has represented hundreds of clients before the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals, Circuit Appellate Courts, USCIS, and the National Visa Center.

Claire began working as a licensed attorney in Brownsville, Texas during the Trump administration and saw firsthand the struggles immigrants faced after arriving at the US/Mexican border. Claire took advantage of her time in Brownsville by volunteering with a nonprofit organization that assisted asylum seekers that were forced to wait months outside the United States in dangerous border towns before being allowed to present their asylum claims.

Claire enjoys all aspects of immigration law, but specializes in removal defense, post removal relief, and specialty visas for victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and other criminal acts.

In addition to her work experience, Claire also has personal experience with immigration in the United States through petitioning her husband, German Carmona. Claire and German have one child, Cecilia, who is their pride and joy.

In 2022, Claire relocated to Texas from Washington D.C. and worked as the Lead Defense Attorney with a distinguished firm in Dallas for two years before deciding to open her own practice in January of 2024.

Now, Claire continues to work in exclusively immigration and represents clients in all 50 states. Since opening her firm, she has also expanded her immigration services and now offers adjustment of status through employment sponsorship.

Claire is fluent in Spanish and has also studied French, Italian, and Mandarin

Attorney Lauren O'Neal

I'm Lauren O'Neal, an immigration attorney with over a decade of experience handling some of the most complex immigration matters across all 50 states. From relief from removal and appeals before the BIA and Fourth Circuit to a wide range of immigration benefits applications, I’ve built a career grounded in deep legal knowledge, relentless advocacy, and genuine care for my clients.

My journey into immigration law began at just 14 years old, after witnessing an immigration raid at the restaurant where I worked. That moment shaped my commitment to fighting for fairness and keeping families together—a mission that still drives me today.

In addition to immigration law, I bring experience in family and criminal law, allowing me to address the overlapping legal challenges many of my clients face. I'm fluent in English and Spanish, and I take pride in creating a welcoming, informed, and compassionate environment for everyone who walks through my door.

As a military spouse, I understand the challenges that come with uncertainty and transition. I approach every case with focus, organization, and unwavering determination, and I work closely with clients and colleagues to ensure each step forward is taken with purpose and clarity.

Whether you're seeking protection from removal, navigating a family petition, or appealing a decision, I’m here to help you move forward—with strength, strategy, and heart.
